He will be missed by his extended family and friends here in Canada, US and Croatia. We will miss Dida very much and we have many fond memories of spending summers as children with him. There were adventures around Mississauga by bus, wheelbarrow races, swims in wine barrels and always made sure there was lots of candy here for us. He was a good Dida. Seeing his grandchildren and great grandchildren would make him smile ear to ear. His face would light up. He was a man of few words but we knew he loved us all very much. We always said Dida had nine lives and he was a fighter. Dida was so proud of his job to keep children safe as a crossing guard from 1980-1994. Not only were his efforts noticed by those around him, Mayor Hazel McCallion gave him Certificate of Recognition. The Paljug and Valentic Families would like to thank the support and excellent care from the staff of the CCAC. In Lieu of flowers the family asks for a donation to either Canadian Cancer Society or The Parish of Croatian Martyrs. The family is holding a Private Funeral Service due to Covid 19 restrictions.
