Obituary of Desmond Charles Lawrence de Young

de Young, Desmond Charles Lawrence Our Father died peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at the age of 89. Born on April 29, 1931 in Allahabad, India to the late Mr. Aubrey Charles & Alice Dorothy de Young. He is predeceased by his loving wife Colleen Crystal Harvey de Young. He is survived by their 2 children Aubrey de Young (Dana Hines) and daughter Suzanne de Young (Barry Hayden). He was the cherished Grandfather to Katerina Skaniakos and beloved brother to Anne de Young. Our Father was the eldest of 3 children and due to the untimely death of his Father began his Career as a Teacher at Bishop Cotton School in Simla, India in his very early 20s . He met our Mother, Colleen in Simla and they were married there in 1955, spending over 65 years together. They were inseparable and Dad died only 10 months after Mum died. Dad had a wonderful inquisitive mind, lovely disposition and hearty sense of humour with a little bit of wickedness in him. He will be sadly missed by all his family, friends, neighbours and students. A private family service will be held.
