Obituary of Alice Delores Wong
Bellas Gate, St. Catherine, Jamaica – 1920Unionville, Ontario, CANADA – 2020Alice Delores Wong passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23 in Unionville, Ontario. She had just recently celebrated her 100th birthday on May 14. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Wong Fong and beloved daughter Jacqueline Ho Chen. Alice was born in St. Catherine, Jamaica to Louise Thomas. An avid gardener, her home on Lindsay Crescent in St. Andrew, Jamaica was abundant with mango, almond, plum, apple, and breadfruit trees to name a few. She had a love for crotons and flowers, and they flourished under her care. It was common for many to bring dying plants for her to return to health, which she seemed to do with ease. Alice and Thomas both worked in their supermarket at 11 Heywood Street in Kingston for many years until moving to Canada in 1977. Mom is lovingly remembered by her eight children: Tony (Pauline); Orville (Bev, deceased); Dennis (Lorna); Cecille (Dave, deceased); Gail (Eddie); Jackie (Johnny) (both deceased); Rosemarie (Gary); and Roxanne (Maurice).13 Grandchildren – Suzanne, Cindy; Ilsa, Damien (Wendy); Michelle; Marc (Devin), Sean; Jane; Stephanie; Jason (Erin), Rebecca (Daki); Melissa (Dan), Ariane (Shane).18 Great-grandchildren Lauren; Colby, Aiden; Andre, Dante; Tyler, Lucas, Jayden; Donnie, Chloe, Bruce; Marcus, Amelia, Aiden; Vivienne, Kai; Jaxon, Mina.Alice has touched so many lives and she will be forever missed.Memorial donations in memory of Alice can be made to a charity of your choice.
