Obituary of Antonio D'Alessio
With a broken heart and great sorrow we announce the passing of Tony (Antonio) D’Alessio after a courageous battle with ALS. Tony faced his diagnosis with acceptance and dignity, always more concerned with the effects of his illness on others. Despite his diagnosis he felt truly blessed for the beautiful life he shared with his beloved wife of 33 years Angela (Defend) and their three children. Ever proud and loving father to Jennifer, Emily and Anthony. Born in Bovino, Italy to the late Luigi and Lucia D’Alessio. Brother to Michael and Celeste (Ester). Brother in law to Teresa (Randy) and Loretta (Joe). Special son in law to Dena. He will be missed by his nieces, nephews and many great friends. Tony spent the last 18 years of his career with his second family at the LCBO. His love of wine brought us all together on many occasions. If he wasn’t drinking wine with family and friends he was cycling, a passion he discovered a few years prior to his diagnosis. Tony spent a few very special years coaching for the Erindale Hockey Association. It gave him great pleasure watching young players develop. A memorial mass and celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to ALS Canada or the Canadian Council of the Blind- Mississauga VIP’s would be greatly appreciated. “My mind still talks to you and my heart still looks for you but my soul knows that you are at peace”.
