Obituary of Dixie Mauer-Wilcox

Dixie WilcoxA memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Eugene for Dixie Lee Maurer-Clemons Wilcox of Eugene, who died Nov. 18 of cancer. She was 66.She was born Nov. 30, 1944, in Macon, Mo., to Robert and Audrey Jenkins Kisor. She married Richard Wilcox on May 15, 2010, in Eugene.She graduated from South Eugene High School in 1962 and from Antioch College in Yellowsprings, Ohio, in 1967. She held master’s degrees in biology and education from the University of Oregon. She worked for 30 years at Lane Community College, first in the science department, then in the cooperative education department and, most recently, as a coordinator for education majors.Survivors include her husband; a son, Lionel Clemons of Eugene; three sisters, Roxie Cuellar of Yachats, Sally Penna of Monmouth and Frederica Merrell of Seattle; a brother, John Merrell of Snohomish, Wash.; and two grandsons.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
