Obituary of Simplicia Milan
It is with profound sadness, that at her home in Mississauga with family at her side, we announce the passing of Simplica (Fely) Milan, our loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched. At age 85, on Monday May 18th 2020, her fight with kidney disease and cancer ended peacefully. She was born March 2, 1935 in Las Pinas Rizal Philippines, to Fernando and Lorenza. Beloved wife of 57 years to Virgilio Milan. Much loved mother of Ferdinand (Jeinny), Arnold, Gomer (Taira), and Michelle (Rick). Cherished grandmother of Dylan, Siann, Jayden, Peyton, Vohn, and James. Dear sister of Maria, Marcelina, Adrianna, Damiana, Ray, Domeng, Johnny, and Eddie. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. She was a very simple woman, who lived life for everyone else before her own. She was spiritual, strong, tireless, stubborn, loyal, kind, giving, an amazing cook who fed everyone who visited her (our Christmas parties were epic), but most of all, loving from beginning to end.For many years Simplicia worked at Rowntree Chocolate Factory which was later acquired by Nestle. She was so happy there, working the line with new immigrants like herself, who shared common values of working hard each day to earn an honest day's pay, but they also laughed a lot, as they shared stories of their lives from the old country, and now as new Canadians. A few years after being promoted to machine operator she retired. She taught us to “Work hard, do what’s right and do what’s good. Be kind and help others.”She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Her funeral services will be held at Glen Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, ON, Canada, L6H 7A8. Due to current provincial restrictions, please join us celebrating her life on-line on Friday, May 22nd 2020 between 1pm - 3pm, followed by a short break, then the burial afterwards (20 min).
