Obituary of Fa Irene

We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Mrs King Fa Irene Ma on Monday, May 17, 2020 at her home in Mississauga, Ontario. Mrs Ma was born in Tai Po County, Canton Province, China (廣東省 大埔 縣 ) on June 8, 1934. Mrs Ma became a Christian through the works of loving missionaries. She later committed herself to God for His ministry. She met Rev Tai Sum Ma at the Evangel Seminary (previously known as Canton Bible College) during their study in 1952. In 1957, Rev and Mrs Ma were sent to Malaysia as missionaries. They returned to Hong Kong in 1965 where they served at the True Love Church of the Hong Kong Evangelical Lutheran Church (香港基督教信義會真愛堂 )for 14 years. Mrs Ma was, at the same time, a teacher at the ELCHK Faith Love Lutheran School (基督教香港信義會信愛學校 )for many years until Rev and Mrs. Ma were sent to continue their mission in North Bay, Canada in 1979. Mrs Ma always prided herself to be the humble servant of God and while teaching and taking care of her family, she was devoted in serving in church bringing many children, parents and young people to God. After Rev. Ma’s passing, Mrs. Ma volunteered actively at the Yee Hong Centre For Geriatric Care, Mississauga (頤康中心 ). She never stopped to busy herself helping others. Whenever she learned of needs from acquaintances or friends she would not hesitate to offer help, visiting, driving, etc. Mrs Ma will be missed by her children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family members, students, friends, and many others whose lives were touched by her.Mrs. Ma has lived a blessed life for God. She has now gone on to be with Rev. Ma and God. We miss her dearly. We will all meet one day when she is awakened by God.The family will be holding a private service due to Covid 19 restrictions.
