Obituary of Victor Malabanan
Victor Yson Malababan Sr., age 77, passed away peacefully on 11th of May 2020 at his home in Mississauga after a short battle with lung cancer. Victor was born on April 12, 1943 in Malvar, Batangas, Philippines.Victor was an avid basketball and baseball fan. He was a lifelong Raptors and Blue Jays fan. His interest included spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, gardening, chatting with his long-distance relatives and friends on the phone, and when he learned how to use the Facebook- he was ecstatic to see his friends and family on Facebook and he was so excited to post his precious family pictures. His favorite expression was “Ala eh, ano ga iyan.”Victor graduated with a degree in Banking and Finance. He was initially employed with the Philippine National Bank (PNB) and he willingly accepted his first assignment as an Inspector for PNB, Ozamiz City, Philippines where he met his loving and beautiful wife, Tita. Victor and Tita decided to start a family in Lipa, Batangas, Philippines where they raised their three beautiful children; Jun-vic, Mayeth and Malou. Victor worked for 20 years with the Philippine National Bank before the whole family immigrated to Canada in July 1994.Victor was an active member of the Malvareños and because of his generous spirit, pleasant personality, he was a friend to all. He loved to go biking and hiking and never missed to buy his lottery ticket.Victor was a loving son, brother, husband, a devoted father, grandfather, uncle, ninong, and friend. He always wanted everyone to be happy and always had a big smile on his face. He was a very generous and kind person. He would go out of his way without hesitation to help anyone who asked for his help. He enjoyed watching his grandson’s baseball and basketball games and never missed it. He will be deeply missed by his family, relatives, friends, and all who knew him.Victor is survived by his loving and supportive wife of 45 years, Tita, who was at his side during and up to his last breath, his children; Victor Jr. (Jun-vic) and his wife April; Marivic (Mayeth) and her husband Clarence; Malou and her husband Chris and his loving grandchildren: Lance, Laurence, Jorel, Kara, Avi, Miggy, and Cassy. He is also survived by his sister, Valeng, brothers; Pat and Frankie and numerous nieces and nephews in the Philippines and abroad. His family knew him only as a loving, kind-hearted, and mild-mannered person. His beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of his children and grandchildren.
