Obituary of Phyllis Brainard

Phyllis BrainardAn inurnment will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at Westfir Cemetery in Oakridge for Phyllis Helen Brainard of Eugene, who died Nov. 29 at age 98. The family chose not to list the cause of death. A potluck gathering will follow at the Oakridge Methodist Church.She was born April 18, 1913, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to William and Ina Woodward Sorensen. She married Benjamin Ryman in 1935 in Eugene. He died in 1958. She married Lloyd Admire in 1960 in Reno, Nev. He died in 1963. She married James Brainard in 1965 in Reno, Nev. He died in 1981.She graduated from high school and attended one year of business college. She worked as a housecleaner, postmaster and owned a grocery store.Survivors include two stepsons, Richard Admire of Veneta and James Brainard of LaPine; a sister, Barbara “Bobbi” of Oakridge; 19 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren. Children Patricia Nichols, Edwin Admire and James Admire died previously.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary.
