Obituary of Judite Rego

It is with such deep sadness to announce the passing of a cherished wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Judite Rego on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. Judite at the age of 87 leaves behind her beloved husband of 64+ years, Silverio. Together they were an inspiration to many with a love of almost 72 years together. Judite was a loving and devoted mother to Margarida (Jose Luis), pre-deceased by her infant child, Jose, Joe, Silverio (Lina), Katarine (David), and Brian (Maria). Beloved, caring, supportive and kind grandmother to Janet, Cheryl, Jeffrey (Jessica), Derek (Christine), Emily, Candice (Mehmet), Darryl and joyous great-grandmother to Eliana and Michael. She was also a step-grandmother to Jon, Jason, Dustin, Dylan and Devin (Amanda) and step-great-grandmother to Winston and Hudson. Dear sister of Manual (pre-deceased) (Urselina), Maria (pre-deceased) (Antonio), Jermias (pre-deceased), Joao (pre-deceased), Jose (pre-deceased), John (pre-deceased) (Natalia), Eusebio (pre-deceased) (Odilia), Antonio (Cidalia), and Claudio (pre-deceased). Judite was the matriarch of our family and leaves behind a substantial legacy in her honour. She will be fondly remembered by her many godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends, and will be deeply missed by all. Her final words: “God bless you, I love you”.In memory of Judite, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Juditewas a person of deep faith. Due to the current pandemic crisis, a memorial mass and celebration of life, in her honour, will take place at a later date.
