Obituary of Hattie Miller

Hattie MillerCOTTAGE GROVE — Hattie D. Miller of Cottage Grove died Dec. 4 of age-related causes. She was 100. A memorial service is planned in Mount Pleasant, Mich.She was born Feb. 19, 1911, in Gladwin, Mich., to John and Mary Brady Long. She married Carl Miller on Nov. 5, 1928, in Gladwin. He died June 2, 1984.She graduated from Gladwin High School. She worked as an airplane carburetor inspector, was co-owner of a general store in Gladwin, farmed and, later in life, became a nurses’ aide.Survivors include two daughters, Donna Brown of Flint, Mich., and Barbara Lay of Cottage Grove; a sister, Nina DeRosia of Bay City, Mich.; 31 grandchildren; very many great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. Two sons, Raymond Miller and Kenneth Miller, and three daughters, Beatrice DeRosia, Ann Bradshaw and Helen Shannon, all died previously.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
