Obituary of Rufino Chia

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved father Rufino. He passed away peacefully at the age of 91 at the Brampton Civic Hospital.Loving husband of Eva, married for 55 cherished years, and admired and loved by his three sons Edgardo, Edwin and Edward. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.He will be remembered by his kindness and positive attitude in every stage of his life in Peru and Canada and his endless acts of generosity to everyone around him.Rufino was a diehard fan of “Universitario” soccer team in Lima and very passionate for music and travel. He always had his pockets full of candies for all his nephews and nieces, and endless funny stories from his younger days.Due to Global COVID-19 circumstances a private family funeral will be held. A celebration of Rufino’s life will be held at a later date.The family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers that you make a donation to The Princess Margaret Hospital Cancer Foundation or The Canadian National Institute for the Blind.
