Obituary of Lucia Giannantonio

GIANNANTONIO, Lucia (nee Zavarella)passed away peacefully on April 27, 2020, in her 82nd year. She was born in Pratola Peligna, Abruzzo, Italy to the late Emilio and the late Silvia Zavarella. She was married to the late Fernando Giannantonio. They decided to start a new life by joining some of their immediate family members in Canada and immigrated to Ottawa in July 1966 with their two sons. She leaves behind her beloved children Diego (Diane), Venanzio, Patrizia and Laura (Alexandre). She was predeceased by her sister Maria Colaiacovo-D'Onofrio and is survived by sisters Dina Colasante (Angelo) and Vittoria Micucci and brother Rocco Zavarella. She also leaves behind many relatives in Canada, the USA and Italy. Lucia wanted to thank everyone who kept in touch with her, especially during the last difficult few months to keep her spirit up. "Un abbraccio a tutti. Ciao." Due to the current situation, a private family service and entombment will be held at the Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery. A public celebration of her life will occur at a later date.
