Obituary of Luigi Cariati

Luigi Cariati passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2020, at the age of 69, after a long battle with kidney disease. Beloved husband to Lina for 50 years. Loving father to Angelo (Marcie). Caring nonno to his grandchildren and loved by all of his extended family members and friends. Luigi was born in Cosenza, Calabria, Italy on November 2, 1950. He was one of 3 siblings. He immigrated to Toronto in 1970. Luigi worked hard as a Foreman for many years providing the best he could for his family. He had many interests including, golfing, gardening, taking care of his fig trees and he always looked forward to making tomato sauce with the family every year.We are saddened not to have him here with us any longer. He will be missed, and his spirit lives on in all of us. There will be a private service on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the Glendale Funeral Home, with a memorial mass and celebration of life to be conducted at a later date.Donations in Luigi’s memory can be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada. www.kidney.ca
