Obituary of Margaret Isabel Powell

Margaret Isabel Powell (nee Brentnall), of Kars, Ontario, age 85 years passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Thursday, April 23, 2020, at Kemptville District Hospital, with her daughter Angela at her side. Margaret married Dennis John Powell (deceased August 13, 2018) in England in 1957, after which they returned to Canada. She was a loving mother to Mark Stephen (Laura), Christopher James (Elisabeth), Jonathan Owen Brentnall, David John (deceased 2001, age 27 years), and Angela Viola. She was a caring and compassionate grandmother to Heather, Andrew (Chara), Jennifer, Lukas, Emma (deceased 2011, age 14years), Katelinn, Shyla, Nicholas (Harley), Jordan and Kelly, and great-grandmother to Katrina, Leon and Ivy. Margaret will be dearly missed by her sisters Diana Horne (Paul) of Tasmania, and Angela Benford (Brian) of England. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by nieces Rachel Du Plessis (Mike) and Rebecca Benford-Blowes (Simon), Colleen, Jenny and nephew Alan.Margaret was a devoted believer and walked with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ from an early age. During the 2nd WW she was sent along with other children to the English country side.She worked for a time for the Cunard Shipping lines in London. In Canada the family lived in Toronto, the Alberta Rockies, Amherst Island in the 1000 Islands region, and various places in the Ottawa area. Her interests included tennis, singing, gardening and flowers, reading, knitting, bible studies, travel and fellowship with friends and family. She can now dwell in the House of the Lord forever. Psalm:23A private family service will be held at Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery.
