The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene for Coy Mitchell Reed of Veneta, who died Dec. 11 of congestive heart failure. He was 85.He was born Sept. 18, 1926, in Gilbert, Ark., to Mitchell and Affie Moore Reed. He married Imogene Norman on Sept. 30, 2000, in Reno, Nev.He served in the military during World War II. He retired from the Construction Laborers Union.Survivors include his wife; two sons, Coy of Eagle Point and David of Maricopa, Ariz.; two stepsons, Darin Norman of Springfield and Dale Norman of Taft, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Carolene Gooding of Trona, Calif.; two brothers, Chester of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Audi of Tennessee; a sister, Nellie Leicht of Kansas City, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A son, Robert Dean Reed, and stepson, Alvin Norman, died previously.Burial will be at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene.
