Obituary of Eleftheria Frances Aliferis
Eleftheria Frances Ailferis (née Kanellakos)Passed away quietly on Greek Orthodox Easter morning, Sunday, April 19th, 2020, her favourite holiday, at the age of 97. Beloved wife of 64 years to George Aliferis. Devoted and loving mother of her sons Aik Aliferis and Peter Aliferis. Proud grandmother, she will be missed by Eleftheria “Liberty” Georgia and Xristopher George Aliferis, their mother Afrodity, and George Aliferis and his mother Nadia. Dear sister of the late Kostas Kanellakos (Maria) of Ottawa, the late Eleni Katsoulis (late Kostas) of Athens Greece, and Katherine Hill (Byrne) of Newmarket, Ontario. She will also be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews; John Kanellakos, Vandi, Tanya, Christina and Darryl Hill, all of Canada; Maria and Elias Katsoulis, Panagiotis, Yanni and Yanna, Panagiotis and Costandina, Stavroula and Petros, Eleni and Spiro, Stratis and Marika, Eleni and Yanni, all of Greece. Frances was a refined woman who travelled the world with her brother Kostas before marrying her love George and devoting herself to her family. When George had completed his military service in Greece, serving as a commander in the Greek Air Brigade with the Allied forces in Europe, he and Frances settled in Ottawa. George had a successful career in the auto collision and dealerships business for over 50 years. She raised her sons and saw her three beautiful grandchildren grow and make her so proud.
