Obituary of Bruno Magisano
Bruno Magisano1929 - 2020It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Bruno Magisano, peacefully after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease, at the St. Joseph’s Villa Long Term Care home on Monday April 20, 2020 at the age of 90 years old. He is survived by his wife Tina Magisano (nee Montesano). He was the loving father to Fernanda (Patricia) and Sylvia (Gary) and grandfather to Lauren. He was predeceased by his sisters Angelina (Ludovico) and Caterina in Italy and is survived by his brother Antonio (Grazie). Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. Bruno was born in San Vito Sullo Ionio Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1957 where he married Tina and they settled in Scarborough where to raise their family. Bruno worked in various aspects of the construction industry and later as a superintendent at the Rosedale Medical Centre in Toronto with his co-worker and friend Terry Whelan.He was a hard worker who was dedicated to his family. He was a very social person who was well liked and enjoyed any opportunity to sing and dance. In 2003, he and his wife moved to Oakville and he enjoyed socializing at theOakville Italian Club and having a coffee with his friends at Tim Horton’s.In compliance with current government policies due to COVID 19, a private family funeral will beheld on Friday April 24th, at Highland Funeral Home in Scarborough, followed by an internment at the Highland Memory Gardens in Don Mills. We hope to have a larger celebration of life at a later date.The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas for their kind and compassionate care. We ask that in place of flowers a donation be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada in Bruno’s name.
