Obituary of Phyllis Hart

Phyllis HartA celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at Terpening Terrace in Eugene for Phyllis Jeanne Falk Hart of Eugene, who died Dec. 10 of breast cancer. She was 85.She was born Oct. 23, 1926, in Eugene to Herman and Dorothy Smith Falk. She married Gordon Hart on June 19, 1949, in Eugene. He died March 3, 2002.She graduated from Eugene High School in 1944, from the University of Oregon with a bachelor of arts degree in liberal studies in 1948, from the San Francisco Theological Seminary in 1950 and from the UO with a master’s in education in 1975. She worked as an elementary school teacher in California, and for 23 years in the Eugene School District, retiring in 1985.Survivors include two daughters, Joanna Hart Jacobs of Veneta and Alison Gillespie of Eugene; a son, Jesse of Eugene; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.Burial will be at Rest Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to University of Oregon College of Education, San Francisco Theological Seminary, Direction Service or Sacred Heart Hospice.
