Obituary of Angelo Garofano

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father,Angelo Garofano, on Saturday April 11, 2020 at Trillium Health Mississauga, Ontario. Beloved husband of Maria for 57 years and devoted father to, Julien (Laura) Garofano, Danielle (Bruno) Ciccone, and Paul (Lisa) Garofano and loving grandfather to Michael (Amanda) Ciccone, Stephanie Domenica Ciccone, Andrew Angelo Garofano, Julia Marie Garofano, Isabella Lisa Garofano, and proud great-grandfather to Gia Andrea.Angelo was born in Frasso Telesino, Benevento, Italy on October 28, 1931. He was one of 3 siblings. He moved to France in search of work in 1950, where he fought in the Algerian war in 1961. At the age of 31, he met and married the love of his life, Maria Calabrese. Angelo and Maria immigrated to Toronto with their son Julien, October 10, 1965. They went on to have two additional children, Danielle and Paul. Angelo worked hard as a labourer for many years providing the best he could for his family. He had many passions including hunting, gardening and he was very proud of his wine and prosciutto making.We are saddened not to have him here with us any longer. He will be missed, and his spirit lives on in all of us.There will be a private service on Monday April 20, 2020 at the Glendale Funeral Home, with a memorial mass and celebration of life to be conducted at a later date due to the pandemic.Donations in Angelo's memory can be made to The Princess Margaret Hospital -- Lung Clinical Program in lieu of flowers.
