Obituary of Ila Venator

Ila VenatorA remembrance gathering will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at Cascade Manor in Eugene for Ila Putman Venator of Eugene, who died Dec. 12 of age-related causes. She was 91.She was born April 25, 1920, in Brownsville to Lee and Clarine Barker Putman. She married John Venator on Sept. 18, 1942, in Springfield. He died Oct. 28, 1983.She graduated from Springfield High School, attended the University of Oregon for two years and graduated with a bachelor of science degree from Oregon State University. She worked as a home economics teacher at Monroe High School, Morrow High School and Eugene Vocational School. She also managed her husband’s business.Survivors include four daughters, Judy Goude of Coos Bay, Gail Cannady of Vancouver, Wash., Margaret Venator of Clatskanie and Kathy Venator of Portland; and one grandchild and one great-grandchild.Private burial will be at Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene.
