Obituary of Eugene Borg

On Friday April 10, 2020, we lost an amazing man. Eugene Borg died peacefully at Trillium Hospital at the age of 92. Thankfully this was not Covid-19 related. Eugene, beloved husband of 70 years to Marian Borg (Fenech), loving father to Mary Ennis (Borg), Joseph Borg, Rosanne Felekides (Borg), Stephen Borg. Wonderful Grandfather of 14, and a Great-grandfather of 10. Eugene came to Canada in the early 50's in search of a better life. He found a job, worked hard to send for his wife to join him. They first lived in the junction where many Maltese settled to create a Maltese community, before moving to their home in Etobicoke, where they settled for the next 45 years to raise their family. He had many jobs in Canada, including a stint at CN Rail, the Post Office, and eventually a 25 year career at Air Canada where he would eventually retire. Working for an airline provided the family with the opportunity for travel all over the world. Most notable, Hawaii, Malta, Japan, Australia, Barbados, Fiji Islands, and many more....He always enjoyed life, loved to make people laugh, and mostly loved his family. You will be missed but not forgotten. Our hero, rest in peace...“The family will hold a small private service on Saturday April 18, at the Scott Funeral Home, Mississauga, limited to immediate family only. A celebration of life will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson’s Canada foundation would be appreciated in Dad’s name...”.
