Harold FosbackSPRINGFIELD — The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Northwood Christian Church in Springfield for Harold “Hal” Fosback of Springfield, who died Dec. 19 of pneumonia. He was 82. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.He was born Aug. 11, 1929, in Cushman to Karl and Ingeborg Valor Fosback. He married Viva McDaniel on April 4, 1957, in Eugene. They later divorced. He married Joanne Brant on April 10, 1982, in Florence.He graduated from Siuslaw High School in Florence in 1947 and attended Oregon Technical Institute in Klamath Falls. He served in the Army as a medic in Germany after World War II. He worked at Papé Cat as a diesel mechanic for 34 years, retiring in August 1994.Survivors include his wife; three sons, Darrell and Rodney, both of Eugene, and Terrance of Sweet Home; a daughter, Sandra Newman of Springfield; a stepson, Robert Wise of Eugene; two stepdaughters, Patty Wilson of Eugene and Pamela Strong of Creswell; a brother, Ole of Florence; a sister, Hanna Panschow of Florence; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.Burial will be at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene.
