Obituary of Anton Pracek

Please take a moment to share a memory and sign the guestbook.It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father and grandfather, Anton Pracek, on Thursday, April 9 after a long and courageous fight with Parkinson’s disease. He will be sorely missed by his soulmate and best friend, wife Dorothy, his children Mira (John), Ed (Michelle) and Anthony (Shelley), his 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and his many friends and relatives in both Canada and Slovenia. In 1959, Anton and Dorothy, with baby Mira in tow, left Slovenia to establish new roots in Canada. Not long after arriving, Anton took a labourer job at Reid Milling in Streetsville, Ontario, working hard to eventually become the Mill Manager, where he remained until his retirement 38 years later.
