Obituary of Lily O. May

Lily Olga MayPeacefully with her family at her side, we sadly announce the passing of our loving mother Lily on Saturday, April 4, 2020. She was married to a caring husband of 65 years, the late John R. May. Together they had 4 children, Nancy (deceased), Bruce (Bertha), Peter and Julie. Born on August 15, 1924 at Fort William (Thunder Bay), mom was the daughter of the late Alex and Saimi (Kaija) Birch. Predeceased by her brother Danny Birch, Lily is survived by the last of her siblings and leaves behind her much loved sister Viola Shanks of Thunder Bay. Loving grandmother to Julie, Patrick (Marlee), John and Jamie. After retiring from a full career, she lived life to the fullest enjoying weekly tea with girlfriends, painting, quilting and occasionally knitting. Her creative and positive attitude touched so many and she will be sadly missed. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In memoriam, donations to Bladder Cancer Canada would be appreciated.
