Obituary of Maria Tilde Baistrocchi

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Maria Baistrocchi on April 3, 2020, at home at the age of 91. Maria was predeceased by her husband Renzo. Loving mother of Sonia, Lucia, Inez (John), Frank (Sharon), Mark, (Karen) and John. Beloved grandmother of Candide (Sean), Kayla, Shane, Dustin, Adam, Madeleine, Matthew and Lauren. Great grandmother to Sile and Liam. Maria will be fondly remembered by extended family, friends and neighbours.Maria was born in Italy and immigrated to Canada with her husband and young family in 1954. They settled in Toronto where their family continued to grow, work hard and together they established themselves and raised their six children. Mom cherished bringing her family together and loved nothing better than to cook wonderful Italian meals. Maria found peace and joy in her garden. Every year, up to her death, she spent countless hours nurturing her vegetable and flower garden. It gave her great pleasure to share the bounty with family, friends and neighbors. Her strong faith was a continual source of comfort to her in good times and in bad. Due to the current pandemic restrictions, there will be a private graveside service. When conditions permit, we will welcome personal condolences to celebrate Maria's life with family and friends.In Maria's honour, in lieu of flower, please consider making a donation to your favourite charity.
