Obituary of Alan Murray Washbrook
Alan Murray Washbrook June 10, 1949 - March 26, 2020It is with a great deal of sadness that I announce the passing of Alan Murray Washbrook at the Westpark Healthcare Centre in Toronto on Thursday March 26th after a lengthy respiratory illness.Alan was born in Windsor Ontario on June 10, 1949. He was the loving partner of Denis Granger, brother to Jim (Janine), uncle to Jenna (Mike) and Jeff (Courtney), great uncle to MaKenna, Bennett, Cooper, and Brody. Alan was predeceased by his parents Murray and Marguerite Washbrook.Alan will be forever remembered by all of his family, friends and students for his love, passion, wit, and love of life.Alan spent his entire teaching career at Stephen Leacock High School in Toronto where his enthusiasm, commitment and love for his students was evident through his long term relationships with students and staff.Alan’s out of classroom passion was in full view when he was on stage as either a cast member or stagehand at Stage Centre Productions in Toronto. He was incredibly proud of being one of the founding members of Stage Centre Productions more than 43 years ago and theatre was a passion Alan pursued until the end. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic Alan’s “Celebration of Life” will be scheduled for a later date. We would like to thank the hard-working staff at both St. Michael's Hospital and West Park Rehab for the care Alan received.
