Obituary of Janice King

A gathering of family and friends will be held at 3 p.m. Jan. 7 at her son’s home for Janice M. King of Springfield, who died Dec. 20 at age 71. The family chose not to list the cause of death.She was born June 23, 1940, in Watertown, S.D., to Carl and Leona Roberts Eliason. She married Thurman King on Dec. 8, 1956, in Coburg. He died Oct. 23, 2006.She worked as a preschool day care provider.Survivors include a son, Raymond of Springfield; a daughter, Sheila King of Vancouver, Wash.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A son, Brian King, and grandson, Danny King, died previously.Arrangements by Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
