Obituary of Angelo Benetti

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of their father, Angelo, on March 11th,2020, his 96th birthday. Beloved husband of Assunta for 66 years until her passing on August 3rd ,2019. Loving and caring father of Angelina, Claudio (Jan) and Elsa (Jeff). Cherished Nonno to Tara, Mike (Naomi), Christine (Rob), Jim (Danielle), Nicole (Cameron), Michelle (Jody), Steve (Akasha), Daniel and David. Proud Bisnonno to Rosalie, Evan, Grace, Eli, Theo, Jane and Nate. He will be greatly missed by his sister Elena, extended family and friends.Born in Positioma, Italy on March 11th,1924 to parents Pietro and Irene Benetti. Assunta and Angelo immigrated to Canada in 1953 after one year of marriage, in search of a better life for their family. Angelo was unwavering in his devotion to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the original DIY man, always fixing any plumbing, mechanical or electrical issues around his or his family’s homes. Always busy in his garden, or caring for his well-loved birds. One of his greatest joys was gathering with family and friends to enjoy a good sing along. Now reunited with many of them we're sure that there is one loud and happy sing song going on in heaven.In the interest of keeping everyone safe during the pandemic, the family has elected to honour their father with a private service.Donations to a charity of your choice in Angelo's memory would be appreciated by the family.
