Obituary of Frank D'Agostino
It is with profound sadness and grief that we share the passing of Frank D’Agostino, after a courageous and valiant battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Frank leaves behind his wife of 52 years, the love of his life and soulmate, Maria Pia. Frank was deeply loved and respected by his children Vince (Jayna), Leo and Lori (Andre). He was the cherished and selfless Nonno to Rachel, Franklin, Kaitlin, Roberto, Taylor, Aidan and Ethan. Frank was fondly referred to as Nonno by many children who spent their early childhood at Nonna’s daycare. Born and raised in Pollutri, Chieti, Italy, the youngest child of Vincenzo and Marianna D’Agostino, Frank immigrated to Canada in 1959 to join his siblings Maria, Romualdo, Camilla, Emilia, Nicola, Giuseppe, Esterina and Alfonso. Frank was the respected Zio to many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Frank was known for his incredible work ethic, and was employed by Mack Truck for 21 years, thereafter spent another 14 years working at Internorth and Cooper Construction. Frank was a founding member of the Oakville Italian Club and a faithful parishioner of St. James parish that he actively supported throughout his life. Frank loved to spend time with his friends and family, watching his favorite soccer team Juventis, playing cards, shooting pool and making his homemade wine. Nothing made Frank happier than spending his days in the garden, tending to his vegetables, flowers and fruit trees. Frank will be dearly missed by his family, friends, neighbors and all who knew him.
