Obituary of Robert Rippee

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at New Hope Baptist Church in Creswell for Robert R. Rippee of Springfield, who died Dec. 28 of age-related causes. He was 91.He was born April 27, 1919, in Tipton, Okla., to Otis and Lola Hooper Rippee. He married Charlsie Bruton on Oct. 27, 1947, in Yakima, Wash.He graduated from high school in Tipton, Okla. He served in the Army during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. He worked as a warehouseman.Survivors include his wife.
