Obituary of Mary Sierota
SIEROTA, MARY (nee Patko) September 15, 1914 - March 2, 2020Passed away peacefully at the Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga. Mary was born in 1914 in Cewkow, Poland to John and Mary Patko. She immigrated to Canada in 1938 with her husband Stefan and daughter Mary, living in Alliston, where the entire Patko family eventually settled. Looking for work, the Sierota family left the family farm and moved to Mimico where Mary worked for Campbell’s Soup for 35 years and retired in 1979. Mary was an active member of the Polish Club in New Toronto and a parishioner of St Teresa Roman Catholic Church. Mary was a shining light to all who knew her, she loved people and had an unwavering determination. Mary will be dearly missed by her grandson Paul (Nancy), Don (Suzy), David (Louise). Cherished great grandmother to Jeffrey, Alison (Carl) and Taylor. Loving great- great grandmother to Logan. Mary is predeceased by her husband, Stefan, daughter Mary and sisters, Annie, Rose, Kay and Evelyn. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff of Wawel Villa Retirement Home for their exceptional care these last 10 years, the staff at Trillium Health Centre and Peak Home Health Care for their efforts, kindness and compassion. Family and friends will be received at the SCOTT FUNERAL HOME, “MISSISSAUGA CHAPEL” (420 Dundas Street East, Mississauga) on Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Funeral Service to follow visitation with Interment at Mount Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
