Arlene NesaryA memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Santa Clara Seventh-day Adventist Church in Eugene for Arlene Fipps Nesary of Eugene, who died Jan. 9 of complications following a stroke. She was 91.A graveside service is planned for later in Kennewick, Wash.She was born Oct. 24, 1920, in Fort Scott, Kan., to Henry and Minnie Tucker Fipps. She married Marvin Nesary on May 16, 1945, in Yakima, Wash. He died Nov. 15, 1997.She attended schools in Lenapah, Kan. She worked as a telephone operator for General Telephone for about 20 years. She retired in 1985.Survivors include a son, Ronald of Cary, N.C.; two daughters, Marlene Nesary of Eugene and Carolyn Fay of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister, Lorene Trussell of Brooks; a brother, Charles “Orvan” Fipps of Springfield; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A son, Michael Leroy, died in 1956.Inurnment will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick, Wash. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to FOOD for Lane County.
