Obituary of Jim Christie

James (Jim) David ChristieAfter a two year battle with colon cancer it is with great sadness that we announce Jim passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.Jim was born in Calgary, AB on November 9, 1956. He is survived by his loving wife, Kate, his mother-in-law, Marjorie Moore, his children, Heather Black (Jeff), Gregory Lamarre (Megan), Coral Lamarre (Mark) and son Stephen. Adored Poppi to Tekerra, William, Lucas, Owen and Kieran. Cherished Uncle Jim to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Nancy and Dave Christie and father-in-law William (Bill) Moore.While Jim had a successful career with both CIBC and Export Development Canada, he was proudest of his role as a parent and grandparent.Jim loved his winters in Florida, partly because he could bar-b-que twelve months of the year and partly because the selection of bourbons was far greater than what could be found in Canada.The family would like to thank the care providers who helped Jim in his final months, including Dr. Fillingham, Dr. Van Hees, the staff at Bayshore Health Services, the Winchester District & Memorial Hospital staff, and especially palliative care nurse, Trish.For those who wish, donations can be to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Ottawa Humane Society.A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 8th, 1:00 - 3:00 pm at the Marlborough Pub, 2364 Roger Stevens Drive, North Gower, ON.(IWTLWITWWYAMTMY)
