Obituary of Donna McFadden

Donna McFadden passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2020 at Oakville Hospital, at the age of 87. Predeceased by her loving husband, Barrie, and her beloved son, David. Donna will be deeply missed by her daughters Wendy (Steven) and Bonnie, and her daughter-in-law Debra. Her memory will be forever cherished by her grandchildren, Michelle, Matthew (Kelly), Paul (Michelle), Brianne (Curtis), Tyler (Meghan) and Darby, as well as her treasured great-grandchildren, Jordan, Torin and Emmarie.Donna's family was her greatest joy in life, and so it was fitting that she chose Family Day to be reunited with her loved ones who had gone before her. Donna will also be missed by her sister-in-law, Diana McFadden, her many dear nieces and nephews, extended family and close, long-time friend Marilyn Hart.Donna will be remembered by many on the lawn bowling greens across Canada. She participated in the sport and supported her home club in many ways for over 65 years. The highlight of her lawn bowling career was winning the Silver Medal in the Canadian Ladies' Pairs Championship in 1993. She was also an accomplished seamstress, knitter and baker, and spent thousands of hours working jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed many an afternoon playing bridge, and loved to travel with both family and friends.Visitation will be held at the Glen Oaks Funeral Home, 3164 Ninth Line in Oakville on Saturday, March 21, 2020 from 10am to 11am, In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice are welcome.
