John Richichi May 13, 1954- February 16, 2020It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of John at the age of 65. He passed away at home, surrounded by his family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Devoted husband and soul mate of 39 years to Louise Richichi. Loving father of Michael (Tina Morgante) and Jennifer (Mathieu Chartrand). Cherished Nonno to Leia and Nathan. Son of the late Antonio and Marianna (Martello). Beloved brother of Joe (Joanne), Dominic (Kathleen), Peter (Clotilde), Anthony (Suzanne), William (Maria) and the late Frank (Christina). Brother-in-law of Andre (Isabelle), Marguerite (Gord) and Monique (Jocelyn). He will be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins near and far.Many thanks to the staff at the Cancer Institute of the General Campus, the Saint Elizabeth Health Care Team and the Bayshore Home Care Team who made such a difference in John’s final weeks. An extra special thanks to Drs. Rheaume, Sinclair, Mallone, Gupta and Tuck, as well as nurses Carol, Olga, Abdul and Melissa for their excellent care and compassion. A visitation will be held at the Capital Funeral Home and Cemetery 3700 Prince of Wales Drive, Ottawa on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 2-5 & 7-9. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Parish 427 Booth Street (At Gladstone) on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 10:00a.m., following Mass John will be laid to rest at Capital Funeral Home and Cemetery, Reception to follow.
