Obituary of Bernice Caroline Kinal

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our mother Bernice Kinal. She died February 12th, 2020 after a long battle with kidney failure and dementia. She leaves behind her two children Charlie Kinal, and daughter-in-law Margo, Susan Cieslik and her husband Jerry. Bernice was the proud grandmother to Turner and Reid Kinal, and Emilia and Katrina Cieslik. Bernice and her twin sister Helena graduated from nursing at the Children’s Hospital in Winnipeg on September 16th, 1956. This graduating class stayed closely connected before facebook and linked-in using the old methods of a telephone and getting together in person no matter how far apart they lived. Bernice married the love of her life Michael on July 31st, 1959. She bravely supported him when he ventured into his own business in Acton, Ontario as the proud owners of Acton Home Hardware. How to support and love one’s family was the legacy that Bernice passed on. She would do the stores book keeping while sitting in the stands of hockey and skating rinks. Skating outfits were sewed by hand and home cooked dinners with extended family and friends seemed effortless. Her beloved husband died January 7th 2018. The two souls that were united by God are now reunited. A special thanks to the staff at Tyndall Seniors Village who took special care of Mom during her last two years of need.
