Obituary of Alfred Boyles
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Springfield Church of God for Alfred “Al” Boyles of Springfield, who died Jan. 16 of age-related causes. He was 85. Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Friday at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in EugeneHe was born Aug. 5, 1926, in Oakland, Calif., to Alfred and Irene Daniels Boyles. He married Verlie Brown on Aug. 3, 1946, in San Francisco.He graduated from Beaverton High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Army during the European campaign, from 1944 to 1946. He worker for Zellner Lumber for 10 years and Weyerhaeuser Company for 33 years.Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael of Burns and Patrick of Lowell; a sister, Beulah McCarthy of Grand Ronde; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.Remembrances to Signature Hospice or Springfield Church of God.
