Obituary of Oi Ling Cecilia Tong

Oi Ling Cecilia Tong passed away on February 7th, 2020 surrounded by her loved ones at the Ian Anderson House in Oakville, Ontario following an eight month battle with metastatic ovarian cancer. Our family is deeply saddened to inform friends and family of her passing. She is survived by her husband Daniel, and her son Desmond. Cecilia is also survived by her sisters Joanne and Tong Oi Chun, her brother Cliff, and her father Tong Chuk Fan. Cecilia was born in Hong Kong on November 29th, 1962 to Tong Chuk Fan and Ho Ki Han. She married Daniel Chan in 1986 and together they moved to Mississauga, Ontario in 1992. She was a devoted wife, mother, and sister. She was also loved and adored by her friends at Huntington Travel over the duration of her career. Cecilia was known for her compassionate nature and her undying love for family. She held no hate in her heart and brought love and light to all those surrounding her. She will always be remembered for her empathy and selflessness for others. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 21 at Glen Oaks Funeral Home, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, ON L6H 7A8. Afterwards, she will be brought to her eternal resting place at Heise Hill Cemetery 11760 Woodbine Ave, Gormley, ON L0H 1G0. Friends and family are welcome to join us for a ceremony celebrating Cecilia’s life, and to see her off into a new haven where she will join her late sister, Vanessa Tong, and her mother Ho Ki Han.
