Kenneth Raymond LarocqueMay 7, 1929 – Feb 7, 2020Ken Larocque passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2020 at the Perley-Rideau Veteran’s Health Centre, in his 91st year. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Julia Larocque, sister Frances Kirkham (Eugene), brother Conrad (late Jeanine), step-son Phil, and first wife Eileen Mannion. He is survived by his loving wife Elaine, of 46 years, sisters Eleanor Pruner (late Chuck) and Carrol Jobst (Steve), children Susan Carvell (Victor), Richard Larocque (Anne Bourgault) and Deirdre Larocque (Bob Brown), and step-son Colin Wackett (Cindy).Ken was blessed by grandchildren Richard, David, Adam, Julie, Nicholas, and Sarah; step-grandchildren Kirsten, Shannon, Curtis; great-grandchild Preston; and many nieces and nephews. Ken’s early career involved house construction in Ottawa: later he moved to the Department of Veteran’s Affairs eventually becoming Director General of Veteran’s Land Affairs. Ken will be remembered for his love of fishing, hunting, camping and the outdoors. Many thanks to the staff of the Perley-Rideau Long Term Care facility for their kind treatment over the past few years. A visitation will be held at Capital Funeral Home and Cemetery, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive, Nepean on Friday, February 14, 2020 from 1:00 pm until time of Memorial Service which will be held in the Chapel at 2:00 pm, followed by a reception. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Perley-Rideau Veteran’s Heath Care Foundation.
