Obituary of Margaret Christine McLean
McLEAN, Ms. Margaret Christine Peacefully, with The Rev. James T. Hurd by her side at the Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at the age of 95. Lovingly cared for by her nurses and doctors at the Chartwell Lord Lansdowne Retirement Residence, the Civic Hospital and the Bruyère Health Centre.Predeceased by her father Allinson Hugh and mother Alma Christine, her brothers George (late Margaret), John (late Valda), William (late Claudette), Keith (Mary) and her sisters Evelyn Semotiuk (Peter), Rosemarie Leggett (Arnold) and Agnes Braden (John). Survived by her 2 nieces and 20 nephews. Will be fondly remembered by her extended family and friends across Canada and the United States of America. Margaret was retired from the Royal Canadian Legion Dominion Command in December 1992. She was a proud and active member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church, Ottawa for 75 years. Due to the current circumstances, the services have been delayed until restrictions have been lifted. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in St. Giles Presbyterian Church, 729 Bank Street (181 First Avenue for ramp, elevator and Para Transpo). Interment of cremated remains to follow at Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive. A reception will follow at the Funeral Home.
