Obituary of Astrid Saugen

Astrid SaugenSPRINGFIELD — A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home for Astrid Saugen of Springfield, who died Jan. 24 of complications from pneumonia. She was 78.She was born Oct. 25, 1933, in Skogmo, Norway, to Otto and Petra Fuglum Flasnes. She married Steiner Saugen on Feb. 15, 1957, in Oakland, Calif. He died July 28, 2000.She worked for more than 20 years as a housekeeper at Sacred Heart Hospital.Survivors include two daughters, Ann Saugen of Portland and Peggy Boyle of Happy Valley; two brothers, Oddmund Flasnes and Erling Flasnes, both of Norway; a sister, Liv Kjolstad of Norway; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Remembrances to Sacred Heart Hospice.
