Richard LouthanA memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today, Feb. 4, at Eugene Faith Center for Richard Louthan of Eugene, who died Feb. 2 of injuries sustained in a fall. He was 75.He was born June 8, 1936, in Newton, Kan., to Herschel and Mary Ellen Heatwole Louthan. He married Brenda Louthan on Aug. 22, 1958.He had a master’s degree in education and counseling from Fort Hays University in Kansas. He was an elementary school teacher and counselor in the Eugene School District for 31 years. He was also a marriage and family counselor in Eugene for 30 years.Survivors include his wife; four sons, Martin of Colorado Springs, Colo., Rick of Spokane, Gerry of Phoenix and Jonny of Eugene; four daughters, Caryn Wood of Eugene, Divonna Johnson of Eugene, Becky Louthan of Eugene and Shana Alton of Gig Harbor, Wash.; a brother, Jerry Louthan of Pearland, Texas; a sister, Barbara Louthan Goering of Vassar, Kan.; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
