Obituary of Betty Olson

Betty OlsonA celebration of life will be held at noon Feb. 12 at the Eugene Country Club for Betty L. Olson of Eugene, who died Jan. 27 of age-related causes. She was 76.She was born May 19, 1935, in Pendleton to Arthur and Dorothy Whitehood Anderson. She married Gerald Olson on Aug. 26, 1984, in Eugene.She graduated from Eugene High School in 1953 and from the University of Oregon in 1957, with a bachelor of arts degree. She worked as an account executive for KMTR and was co-owner of Advertising Products and Promotions.Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Julie Chown of Eugene; a son, Steve Smith of Eugene; a stepdaughter, Kirsten Olson Kerber of Seattle; a stepson, Mitch of Portland; a brother, Bob Anderson of Florence; and seven grandchildren.Private family inurnment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances may be sent to the Oregon Golf Team or Eugene YMCA.
