PORTMANN, Kurt1942-2020Retired- Employee of the Embassy of Switzerland Co-founder and first President of the Swiss Seniors Club of OttawaPeacefully, surrounded by his loving family listening to Swiss music, Monday, January 6, 2020, at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Erika (nee Kirschner). Loving father of Natalie Portmann (John Morozuk). Cherished grandfather of Mikaela. Caring brother of Klara Bolliger (Fritz). Predeceased by brothers Fritz (late Maria), Walter (late Jeanne), Arthur (Yvonne), Werner (Hildegard) and sister Esther (late Jakob). Will be fondly remembered by his extended family and friends throughout Switzerland and Canada. A special thank you to the Dr. Rebecca Mathew, doctors and nurses of the Ottawa Hospital (General Campus- Intensive Care Unit) for their exceptional care given to our loved one. Family and friends may gather at the Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive, 613-692-1211, on Saturday, January 25, 2020 for a memorial visitation commencing at 1 p.m., followed by a Service to celebrate Kurt's life in the Chapel at 2:30 p.m. In memoriam donations to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation (General Campus - Intensive Care Unit) and/or the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation are appreciated.
