Obituary of Melissa Alicia Weekes

Passed away suddenly at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in Burlington on December 31st, 2019 at the age of 37. Cherished daughter of Lemuel and Juney Weekes. Loving sister of Shaun, sister-in-law of Mary and aunt to Harper and Dalton. Melissa also leaves behind her aunts and uncles; Ralph and Vicki Weekes, Winston Weekes, Angela Weekes, Mona and Michael (in Barbados), Monica (in New York) and Stephen (in UK) as well as her cousins Gloria, Lynette, Marc, Tony, Matthew, David (in Canada), Dawn, Melanie and Alex (in Barbados). She will be sadly missed by her niece, nephew, cousins, uncles, aunts and friends. Melissa attended both Humber College and the University of Guelph and worked as the Human Resources Manager for National Tire Distributors in Burlington, Ontario. She had a great passion and enthusiasm for sports, including football, baseball and softball, and was supporter of the Toronto Blue Jays. A very special thank you to family and friends for their love and support, Mary Ellen Gilhooly and co-workers at National Tire Distributors, the Halton EMS workers and the ER staff at Joseph Brant Hospital. Friends and family are welcomed to gather in Melissa's honor for a period of visitation, which will be held at Glen Oaks Funeral Home on Monday, January 13, 2020 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service to begin in Glen Oaks Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2020 with a reception to follow.
