After being married on June 18, 1983, they moved to Vancouver, B.C. where they lived until December 1999. She began her celebrated career in the field of events management with a local firm and at UBC. Business contacts introduced her to philanthropy, which became her passion. She worked with United Way of Vancouver and also assisted in organizing a fundraising event called “Rolling for Rehab” to benefit the GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre. She went on to opening Mayer-Clack & Associates, continuing both her fundraising initiatives as well as coordinating special initiative programs at BC Hydro. Kim and Scott moved back to the Mississauga/Oakville area in December 1999 to be closer to their families. Kim continued following her passion in philanthropy, working at United Way of Toronto for several years. She moved to BMO Capital Markets to assist with employee giving initiatives. She later became the Senior Manager, Employee Giving of BMO Financial Group where she helped establish one of the largest and most successful United Way employee-giving and -engagement campaigns in North America. She was also particularly proud of BMO’s Employee Giving support and sponsorship of Kid’s Help Phone and their annual “Walk So Kids Can Talk” event. She remained in that position until January 2019, when her health problems became her focus. In Kim’s personal life, her key passion was family: nothing was more important to her. She loved gardening, cooking, travel, golf, skiing, Sudoku and avidly devoured books.Kim’s family wishes to express our sincerest “Thanks” to the nurses and doctors of the Spinal Care Unit and ICU at Mississauga Hospital for the care you provided to Kim in the past two months. In lieu of flowers, Kim’s family suggests donations be made in her memory to the following:•Kid’s Help Phone•Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation•Trillium Health Partners Foundation
