Obituary of Mai Kim Ngo

On Saturday, January 4, 2020, at 12:07pm Mai Kim Ngo, loving wife, mother of three children and grandmother of four granddaughters peacefully passed away at the age of 84.Mai was born on August 17, 1935 in Hanoi, Vietnam. The youngest of nine siblings, she was nicknamed “Bé”.Mai met Sieu Ngo at work and after a short courtship, the two married on June 6, 1966. They raised Wayne and Sun in Saigon before escaping Vietnam in 1979 to start a new life in Delhi, Ontario. Two years after immigrating to Canada, Benson was born. Mai loved fashion and was a natural artisian, she designed and made her own dresses as a teenager, learned to knit and crochet sweaters and hats for her children upon arriving to Canada. She loved gardening and flowers and worked at Fernlea Flowers for over 10 years. She was extremely detailed-oriented and loved learning new skills. She was an avid music lover and in her early 60s, picked up guitar and keyboard. She taught her granddaughters her favorite song, "Que Sera, Sera".Mai is survived by her devoted husband Sieu, her three children, Wayne, Sun, Benson, their partners Sandra, Conan and Vanessa. Her adoring granddaughters, Mya, Indiana, Felicity and Chloe. Her older brother Sieng, older sister Chu and many nieces and nephews who lovingly call her "Cô Bé".A private family visitation and funeral service will be held.
