Obituary of Ronald Johnson

Ronald Forrest Johnson of Springfield died Feb. 15 of kidney failure. He was 78. A memorial service is planned for a later date.He was born April 18, 1933, in Portland to Joseph and Anna Falotico Johnson. He married Catherine Hummel in 1959 in Stevenson, Wash.He attended Shattuck Elementary Grade School and St. Lawrence Catholic School in Portland and graduated from Lincoln High School in Portland.He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956. He worked for the Southern Pacific Rail Road, beginning in 1951 and retiring in 1990 as an assistant terminal superintendant.Survivors include his wife; two sons, David and Brian, both of Springfield; three daughters, Linda Cummings of Portland, Vicki Johnson of Springfield and Lori Wilkerson of Eugene; a brother, Raymond Johnson of Portland; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Springfield.
