Obituary of Leonardo Palandra

Leonardo Palandra, Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 29, 2019. Husband to Annina (Anna) Palandra for 73 years. Leonardo leaves behind his loving children, Tony (Maria), Carmela (Joseph), and Anna Rose (Brock), along with his sister Maria (Tony). He will be deeply missed by his eight grandchildren, Luigi (Selina), Michelle (Scott), Lenny (Christina), Sidney, Deanne (Alex), Anne Margaret, Kimberly, and Amanda. His memories and teachings will be passed on to his five great-grandchildren, James, Bennett, Olivia, Sofia, and Carter. Born in Monteleone di Puglia, Italy in 1925, Leonardo immigrated his family to Canada in 1966 with only a few possessions in hand. Devoted to providing the best life he could for his family, Leonardo was hardworking and thoughtful; never waiting for anyone to ask for help, but always there to lend a hand. These caring hands could often be found tending to the garden, fixing things, and welcoming family and friends to the table. His door was always open, a table setting ready for anyone to stop by for a laugh and a glass of wine. His traditions and dedication to family will be cherished and continued. Visitation will take place at Highland Funeral Home, 3280 Sheppard Avenue East, on January 3rd from 2-4pm and 6-9pm. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30am on January 4th at St. Lawrence Church, 2210 Lawrence Ave E. Interment at Highland Memorial, 33 Memory Gardens Lane. In lieu of flowers, you are welcome to make a donation to Alzheimer Society of Canada or The Lung Association of Ontario
